As the owner of this site, Doctors Against Animal Experiments, is based in Germany the privacy protection regulations are stated here in German according to German law. 

1. Data Protection Declaration

The use of our website is generally possible without providing personal data. Wheneverpersonal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected, this occurs, as far as possible, on a voluntary basis. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.

We would like to point out that data transmission over the internet (e.g. communication by e-mail) can have security gaps. A complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible. The use of the contact data published within the scope of the imprint obligation by third parties for sending unsolicited advertising and information material is hereby prohibited.

We reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising information being sent, for example through spam e-mails.

The legal basis of data protection can be found in the General Data Protection Act.

In this policy, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the organization Doctors Against Animal Experiments Germany

2. Access Data / Server Logfiles

We collect data about every access to the offer (so called server log files).

Access data includes:

  • Name of the accessed website,
  • date, time and duration of the access,
  • transferred data volume (in byte),
  • notification of successful access,
  • browser type and version,
  • the user’s operating system,
  • referrer URL (the previously visited page),
  • anonymous IP address.

Doctors against Animal Experiments Germany uses the log data only for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operation, security and optimization of the offer. Doctors against Animal Experiments Germany reserves the right, however, to check the log data subsequently if there is a justified suspicion of illegal use based on concrete evidence. The data will be deleted after 7 days. 

3. Cookies

Cookies are small files that enable the user’s access device (PC, smartphone etc.) to store specific information relating to the device. They serve on one hand the user-friendliness of web pages and thus the users (e.g. storage of login data). On the other hand, they are used to collect statistical data on the use of the website and to analyze it for the purpose of improving the offer. Users can influence the use of cookies. 4. Establishing Contact / Contact Form

When contacting Doctors against Animal Experiments Germany (e.g. via contact form, press-contact, e-mail, telephone or fax), the user’s details are stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event that follow-up questions will arise. If a user chooses to contact us this way, we will transfer and save the entered data. For data processing the users consent is required. Alternatively, it is also possible to contact Doctors against Animal Experiments Germany by sending an e-mail directly. There will be no transmission of entered data to third parties.

5. Handling of personal data

Personal data is information that can be used to identify a person, i.e. information that can be traced back to a person. This includes your name, e-mail address or telephone number. This information will be saved in our system and will not transferred to third parties. Every new donator receives a reference number. The personal data will be protected from third parties by using appropriate technical and organizational measures.
To issue a donation receipt, a valid postal and an e-mail address is required. If you choose to transfer a donation by your own and wish a donation receipt, please contact us.

5.1.1. Payment service provider

6. Social-Media plugins

Our website uses social plugins (“plugins”) provided by the social network facebook.com, operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins are by default inactive. They will be activated in two-way process. Your first click activates the button and then, with a second click, you can share or like the content.

6.1. Facebook

By visiting a page of our website that contains a social plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook servers. Facebook directly transfers the plugin content to your browser which embeds the latter into the website, enabling Facebook to receive information about you having accessed the respective page of our website. Thus, we have no influence on the data gathered by the plugin and inform you according to our state of knowledge:

We have several social media accounts in order to communicate with registered clients and inform them about our work. We point to the fact, that data in this content can be proceeded beyond of the European Union and it may be difficult to enforce the rights of the user. With the following information, we inform you about the contents of our newsletter as well as the registration, dispatch and statistical evaluation procedure and your rights of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to the receipt and the described procedures.

Contents of the newsletter:
We will only send newsletters, e-mails and other electronic notifications containing information about our current activities, successes and news about stopping animal experiments (hereinafter “newsletters”) with the consent of the recipients or a legal permission. If the contents of a newsletter are specifically described within the scope of a registration, this affects the consent of the users. In addition, our newsletters contain information on Doctors against Animal Experiments Germany projects.

Double-opt-in and logging
The registration for our newsletter requires a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after registration you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can log in with another e-mail address. Subscriptions to the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes the storage of the login and confirmation time, as well as the IP address. Also, the changes of your data stored with RapidMail are logged.

The e-mail addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as other data described in the context of these notes, are stored on the servers of RapidMail in Germany. RapidMail uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, RapidMail can use this data according to its own information to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. to technically optimize the sending and presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes, in order to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, RapidMail does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write them down or pass them on to third parties. We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of RapidMail and chose this provider wisely. We have concluded a “data processing agreement” with RapidMail. This is a contract in which RapidMail agrees to protect the data of our users, to process them on our behalf in accordance with their data protection regulations and especially not to pass them on to third parties.

Statistical surveys and analyses
The newsletters contain a so-called “web-beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the RapidMail server when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval are initially collected. This information is used to technically improve the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined by using the IP address) or access times. The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our endeavor, nor that of RapidMail, to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our contents to them or to send different contents according to the interests of our users.

Online access and data management
There are cases, in which we direct the newsletter recipients to websites hosted by RapidMail. For example, our newsletters contain a link with which the newsletter recipients can view newsletters online (e.g. in case of display problems in the e-mail program). Furthermore, newsletter recipients can subsequently correct their data, e.g. the e-mail address. Likewise, the privacy policy of RapidMail is only available on their site. In this context, we point out that cookies are used on the websites of RapidMail and thus personal data are processed by RapidMail. We have no influence on this data collection. Further information can be found in the privacy policy of RapidMail. In addition, we would like to draw your attention to the possibilities of objecting to the collection of data for advertising purposes on the websites https://www.aboutads.info/choices and https://www.youronlinechoices.com (for the European area).

Cancellation/revocation
You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. At the same time, your consents to its dispatch via RapidMail and the statistical analyses expire. A separate cancellation of the dispatch via RapidMail or the statistical evaluation is unfortunately not possible. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter, but you can also cancel the newsletter by e-mail, mail, telephone or fax. If you withdraw your consent in one of these ways, thereby arise maximum transmission costs according to the basic tariffs of your telephone provider. We don’t use value-added service numbers.

 9. Integration of third party services content

It may happen that third party content, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, Google Fonts, e.g. from opinion stages, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites, is integrated within this online offer. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as “third party providers”) perceive the IP address of the users. Without the IP address, they could not send the content to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is therefore required for the display of this content. We make every effort to use only those contents whose respective providers use the IP address only for the delivery of the contents. However, we have no influence on this if third party providers store the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. We inform users about everything that is known to us.

10. Rights of the Data Subject

10.1. Right of confirmation / right of access

Each data subject shall have the right granted by the European legislator to obtain from the controller the confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning him or her are being processed and free information about his or her personal data stored at any time and a copy of this information. If a data subject wishes to avail himself of this right, he or she may, at any time, contact any employee of the controller.

10.2. Right to rectification

Each data subject shall have the right granted by the European legislator to obtain from the controller without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning him or her. Taking into account the purposes of the processing, the data subject shall have the right to have incomplete personal data completed by means of providing a supplementary statement. 

If a data subject wishes to exercise the right to rectification, he or she may, at any time, contact the controller or any employee of Doctors against Animal Experiments.

10.3. Right to erasure (right to be forgotten)

Each data subject shall have the right granted by the European legislator to obtain from the controller the erasure of personal data concerning him or her without undue delay. The controller shall have the obligation to erase personal data without undue delay if one of the following applies, as long as the processing is not necessary (for example tax retention periods).

Each data subject shall have the right granted by the European legislator to obtain from the controller restriction of processing where one of the following applies:

  • The accuracy of the personal data is contested by the data subject, for a period enabling the controller to verify the accuracy of the personal data.
  • The processing is unlawful and the data subject opposes the erasure of the personal data and requests instead the restriction of their use instead.
  • The controller no longer needs the personal data for the purposes of the processing, but they are required by the data subject for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
  • The data subject has objected to processing pursuant to Article 21(1) of the GDPR pending the verification whether the legitimate grounds of the controller override those of the data subject.

10.4. Right to data portability

Each data subject shall have the right granted by the European legislator to receive all personal data concerning him or her, which was provided to a controller, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. He or she shall have the right to transmit this data to another controller without hindrance from the controller to which the personal data have been provided. The processing needs to be based on consent pursuant to point (a) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR or point (a) of Article 9(2) of the GDPR, or on a contract pursuant to point (b) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR. The processing needs to be carried out by automated means, as long as the processing is not necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

10.5. Right to object / withdraw data protection consent

Each data subject shall have the right granted by the European legislator to object, due to reasons relating to his or her particular situation, at any time, to processing of personal data concerning him or her, which is based on point (e) or (f) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR. This also applies to profiling based on these provisions.

Each data subject shall also have the right to withdraw his or her consent to processing of his or her personal data at any time.

If the data subject wishes to exercise the right to object or to withdraw the consent, he or she may, at any time, contact any employee of Doctors against Animal Experiments Germany.
